howdy y'all -

So, this week's Kicksville release, Shriveled Soul, is here: http://kicksville.bandcamp.com/track/shriveled-soul

Couple of interesting notes.... That female voice towards the end is actually an Android tablet. We were working on the vocal track, and Tone Deaf was reading from his tablet. He accidentally hit the button to make it talk, and there you have it.... I love happy accidents

Also, the basic instrumental sketch for this song was initially tracked back in the day, using Pro Audio 8! We pulled it out of the closet and finished it off in X2, but some of the original bits are still in there. 95% was re-done, but some pieces made it into the final mix.

AND, the renowned Portuguese video artist, Albano Ruela, has done a piece for this song, and you can check it out here if you're interested: http://www.youtube.com/kicksvillevideo
Anyhoo, enjoy!

another quality tune, although not quite as catchy as your last single! that's a cool story about the female voice, and explains why she is not in time ;-) nice video, also. i like your stuff. art or rat? ART for sure!

Very different, but another nice mix. Sounded good to me. Yep! Very different.

Peace and blessings, John

Thanks, Tom! One nice thing about the way we work in Kicksville is there's no real agenda: we're not trying to write one kind of thing, and don't worry about whether it's catchy or not. If it works out that way, great! If not, great!

I suppose it could be "tar," too ;-)

Thanks a lot, John! We do our best to not get stuck in a rut

And if you think that's different, you should check these two songs out:

I do the occasional music business seminar about marketing in the current media environment, and I use those two songs as an introduction. The setup is, "In today's classification-obsessed and hyper-fragmented media environment, how do you market something that simply doesn't fit conventional descriptions?"

The end answer is, of course, you don't. But that's a long discussion for a different forum
