Remix version of a previously posted song using the Waves Redd Console (Abbey Road Studios Plug-in) on the drums, bass and vocal tracks.  Waves had a special on this plug last month and I picked it up.   This is the exact same mix as before except the Redd Console 37 plugin was inserted on the Drums (Kick, Snare, Hats, Overheads) and the Drum Bus.   Also added the plugin to the Bass and LVOX/BVox tracks.  I think the plugin added a nice dimension and some more drive to the track.  Comments welcome.  Thx.

I also agree. I noticed the bass and drums stood out a lot more right away. And wasn't even looking for it (didn't read your post until I listened). Great song! Sounds great.

Oh yea, that's even sweeter. vox blend is spot on. Sounds warmer overall.

That break was a reach... On my toes, balls clenched firmly (one in each hand) it was worse than a TSA pat down? Chin up, veins popping, diaphragm tight. "except I want you by my side" and "Don't you know, the times I tried."

Thanks again for doing this one with me Mark, it's one of my all time favorites, even if I did have to abuse my junk to get up there. You're welcome for that visual.

I think your new mix is killer. The guitar tone is perfect.

She looks good in Baby Blue...

Sounds great on this end. Everything seems to be right in place. Great singing always makes a song stand out. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing again.

Peace be with you. Blessings, John

Gents,

Thanks for the validation.   I was very surprised by the differences between the original and the updated mix.   Essentially I just threw the plug-in in the tracks and picked some presets for the various instruments as an experiment to get a feel for what the plug does and this is the result.

Now I am considering picking up the Waves NLS as well.   Not quite the same thing as the Redd Console (which is a Channel Strip and Console Emulator), NLS is just a track and bus Console Emulator of SSL, EMI and NEVE.   I do like the ProChannel Console Emulation and have noticed a better result with it, however, I feel that the Redd Console, for example, added some extra magic to the bottom end that has eluded me in the past.

Regards

This sounds more like an analogue recording than ever.  I've been using the console emulation in pro channel a lot, recently, and I agree that it adds something to my mixes that wasn't there before.  However, this demo of of the Redd Waves Console is very impressive.  I'll have to look into this.

It really sounds great!  It seems to add more low end and warms up the track

Somehow this version just sounded ballsier... does that make sense?
