  • ANOTHER SMALL GUITAR SAMPLE & QUESTION?

THE NIGHT FOX

Its been a month and a half learning to play my new electric guitar , I spent over a month trying to hearden up my finger tips so I can play chords while working mostly with simple basic chords .
Also worked on the fret board doing finger movement excerises , during that time I had some issues with this guitar staying in tune so last wek I went out and bought a new set of guitar strings and replace the strings that was on it when I bought this guitar from SweetWater .
Now it sounds in tune when I play it and stays in tune so the new set of strings did fix that issue I was having .

I started working on a new electronic song two weeks ago , I haven't been rushing this song at all because while I'm working on it I'm also trying to work on a guitar track that will work with this music I created.
By the way the drum track I played & recorded using my electronic drums .

Today I recorded this very simple guitar scale and was hoping to get some feedback on what I started playing and recorded in my second section of this new song I started working on .
The MIX isn't good at all so this is my warning , I need to figure out how to work with that GuitarRig LE so it is setup correctly .

LINK WILL BE POSTED AGAIN SOON , TUNE IN A WEEK THANKS !

This recording was recorded using the Presonus Studio One DAW software , it was included with my last AUDIOBOX USB purchased and included Guitar Rig 4 .
This DAW sucks for recording I don't like it at all , I need to setup my Sonar Home Studio 7 XL software and Guitar Rig 4 sometime this week .

Anyway I know it sounds very basic , this is my very first recorded guitar scale .
I'm sure by the end of this year I will be able to play some scales that sound better then what I recorded in this small sample I'm posting .

Cheers -James

Well, it is very basic.  It's a pretty good sound though with something that simple I'd probably use a bit of echo (delay, whatever) to sustain.  Just my thought.

It sounds more like a mixing problem than anything else. You need to bring up the guitar into the mix and maybe some panning, but hard to tell until you get the mix better. Make sure each track doesn't share the same space in the song and correct each tracks volume level so you can hear each part clearly in the mix. Then when you get that hit each track with compression and then a limiter. Keep tweaking till it all blends together properly. Final master on wav. file may need to be tweaked with final compression and limiter as well. Good Luck.

Peace and blessings, John

Hey, it's a start and you're actually playing the guitar.  I'm not sure what you are doing with the guitar rig 4?  It should sound fuller than that just DI.  Thicken up the tone a bit.  GR4 should be able to help.

Keep in mind there is nothing wrong with simple.  I find very simple passages and 1 note chords work very well as accompaniment lead.  It's all about playing the right notes, not how many or how fast.

Playing guitar is more of journey than a destination.  After 50 years, I'm still on the journey!!

Hi Daryl , thanks ! I still haven't figured out everything when setting up the AMP and Effects in Guitar Rig 4 . I have the FREE version and its very limited with all the cool stuff Guitar Rig 4 has in it just basic stuff to start with , you have to buy the good stuff ! LOL

I try to practice two hours a day if possible or atlease an hour each day , its not as easy as I thought but hey atlease I'm making some progress learning on my own with a few guitar books and whatever I can learn from youtube .

Thanks for the comments, cheers !

Thanks Warren , I created this music with high hopes I would be able
to add some type of guitar to it .
I went back in and swamp out a PAD synth sound and remixed that sound .
Here is the music without the guitar , sounds pretty good in my monitor
        speakers .

I'll go back and see what I can do with my guitar and Guitar Rigs  , make some
        Amp adjustments .

       Thanks - James

Hi John , I think some of the mix or sound issue had to do with the
PAD sound I used for my Chord Progression . I just swamped it out
using a different PAD synth sound , sounds better now in the MIX .
As for the guitar sound , I haven't figured out everything there is
to know when mixing an electric guitar .
Almost all of my tracks I use compression and no reverb unless its a piano track , oh yea I did add some reverb to the guitar in Guitar Rig 4.

Hey I just remix just the music , heres what it sounds like with no guitar .
