Hi,

In case you missed it, or you don't care, there is a post on the YES webpage that Chris has Cancer and that Billy Sherwood will replace him during the tour this year and the Cruise one as well.

I guess that we all go at one time or another, but seeing one of our friends that we have grown up with for so long, and appreciated his playing ... this is sad!  And yeah ... like him or not, he is good! (I could write "was" ... !!!)

Get better Chris, and hope to see you again!

I have tickets to see them in August and we have back stage passes to meet the band!  How dare he have cancer and not be there for me to meet him!!!!!!

oh, I guess that's kinda selfish, huh...

Oh no... I got to see him twice. On the Close to the Edge tour and the 2002 tour both with Wakeman, they KILLED both times. On the CTTE tour a new band called the Eagles opened for them. Atlanta Municipal Auditorium for CTTE and Chastain Park Amphitheater for the 2002. The Muni was a really good venue but it is gone the way of the rest of the good sounding concert halls. Arenas and small clubs now.. but I digress.

I appreciate the sad news. Maybe there is a way to send a card.

Hi,

Saw him again, here in Oregon at the Casino near Portland. It was an OK show, though I did not care for the singer and his "stock" poses and arm gestures. I thought that was thoroughly unprofessional considering the musical abilities behind him! However, I would be more critical, with my "director's eye" and ability when seeing something like that ... I would never allow that to happen, specially to such a huge band! But it tells you how far the "pop" (as in popular) thing has come, and sometimes it is not about the ability and how to make it better and clearly presentable, instead of cardboard replicas.
The playing and interplay between Chris and Steve was excellent, and I would gladly would take an hour of both of them alone just ripping up the walls and throwing any color paint at the walls!

First saw them in 1972 or 3 ... have to check ... when they played "Tales of Topographic Oceans" at the Long Beach Arena, and when the show was over, I had tears in my eyes. I knew that I would never again in my whole life, see something that excellent and that valuable in music, and that even fewer people would appreciate its strength and beauty.

On the better side of things, when I saw King Crimson with 3 drummers in Seattle last year, it was the greatest single concert I have ever seen in my life, and you can tell they went after it as if this was classical music and the best there is. It was downright inspirational and exciting, just like I felt that night at the Long Beach Arena.

Those are the two concerts that matter the most to my life!
