How about stability?
The only DAW that seems to have the courage [or audacity] to boast the ultimate in stability vs. the other DAWs is Reaper.

So how does FL compare?

I'm not sure how any developer can boast about stability vs another DAW. I'm sure at any given moment and with a particular machine a conclusion can be drawn. However, one would need a good sampling of all the PC type machines out there to make such a boast. This would include desktop, laptop and tablets. Name brand and home built.

I remember when Reaper was in version 2 it was a very flaky DAW on my machine. Sonar ran just fine. So did Fruity Loops.

I think a developer that says anything about being the most stable is lying. It may be on their machine but not on your machine.

I think they are only talking about their code being stable, they aren't responsible for other third party code, or the configuration a user does to their own computer.

I agree it's difficult to measure how stable some product is, the only way to do it though is to test on the same computer. You would add too many variables otherwise.

Interesting! I can say I've heard just about every developer claim stable code yet they still fix stuff.

Right - 'Fruit Loops'.

My Mother refused to buy it.

Too much sugar, I guess.

Talk to the BassDad, he knows his loops.

FL has been very stable over the years. I expect some growing pains now that hey have dabbled wit hthe core of the program for the first time in awhile.

Call me old school, but I just can't imagine myself ever buying anything called 'Fruity Loops' -  no matter how good it might be.

Makes me think of Twitter - and the subsequent quote about it  - "Real men would never 'tweet' ".

I'da know - just me I guess.

Don't mind me - just sayin'...

What was that Hon? - shut the 'f ' up already?

Right! - got it!

Done...............Hahaha

Don't underestimate "Fruity Loops" (by the way, it's 'FL Studio' now - I know the old name was kinda lame) but there are a lotta things to appreciate in FL Studio... Especially the lastest release!

It always amazes me how some developers spend countless hours, weeks, months or even years on their software, only to release a less-than-stellar demo video of it - even terrible, as many I've seen.
If I have do any interest in FL Studio at this point, it's only from the comments here and elsewhere, because it SURE ISN'T from the demo on Music radar!

I can see people NOT buying it after watching that waste of 2 minutes.

What ever happened to a narrated walk through of the features and benefits, and other options?

After all, it's not like they don't have method of recording and doing so.
Zheesh!

Thank you for the link though Susan. I will have a good look at it on their site.

Hi Jim-

You're very welcome!

Here's Image-Line's latest video on the 12.1 Beta 2 version:
https://youtu.be/R78xKqOpp_g
The opening might not be your kind of music (it's not mine, either) but once you get past the opening few seconds, Scott actually does (IMO) a really good job of describing the new features. I think the whole "FL Studio Guru" series of videos is very well done, but I agree that a lot of others, not so much.

Thanks-

-Susan
