Oh I got gear? :-) Years and years of GAS!

Eye candy too...

It has a live feel to it.    The dobro sounded at little too panned.  But excellent piece for 4 hours.  Well done.

You gotta love the wood and steel :-) Although it could also be the title to an alternative lifestyle video? But in this case, it's all about the wood (wooden instruments) and steel (the strings.)

There's something primal about it?  I mean it goes back? It goes way back... It's what you would hear 100 years ago, or 200 years ago? And something about that makes it special to me.

It's not my normal thing, but I love the wood and steel... It takes music back a ways? Before we had fancy DAWs. And fancy Mics and whatnot, people were making good music with wood and steel? And also brass and reeds? But I'm not that guy, but I do love the wood and steel. So much good music written and played with just that, and vocals.

OK, this is how it works with me? I hear something in conversation? And I say, "There's a song in there somewhere!" Or, "That's the title to a song!"

And I think I just did it to myself (but that's another story for another forum...)

"Wood and Steel..." I think it's a song title? And I think I'm going to write it? A good grass tune... I may call in a favor from a certain fiddle player... It's just an idea for a title at this point? But this is how it happens with me... If history repeats itself (which it does) this will turn in to a kickass song.

Nice work.

Very easy to listen to. It is great when something comes together quickly and still sounds good.

Thanks for sharing,

I love it when a plan comes together :-) Thanks everybody! Working on a very aggressive colab w/mister no999 right now... This weekend will be spent "practicing" the bass line... Practicing? What a concept! We all like to perform? But sometimes, we have to practice before we can record? Mister no999 is a relentless taskmaster and accepts nothing less than perfection. So I'm going to practice before I comp it in.

Hi Robby,

Great choice of a tune to cover.  It's almost pointless to comment on the vocal because your vocals are always outstanding

Excellent 'live' sounding instrumental performances and a great, clean mix!  Well done!

Made a meal tonight that went quite well with this :-) GUMBO! It started as a Rue (Butter and flower) cooked for a bit, then the green peppers, celery and onions, hot peppers (habenaro and jalapeno)  Chicken stock, chopped tomatos, long grain rice, then after simmering, (cooked earlier) the andoville, stone crab claw meat, chicken and the pealed and deveined shrimp... Yes, oh yes, it was every bit that good... And then some. A few other "secrets" to make it special, but Gumbo? Gumbo like you wish your mama made... It rocked "HARD" and went well with a nice backwoods country tune like this :-) And I have 3 big containers left to re-heat... My cooking is every bit as good as anything I've ever recorded, maybe better? It was the kind of meal you eat, "and then talk about for days..."
