Hi. Tonight Finland's song for the song contest Eurovision was chosen. The song is a bit simple imo and it is too short. Good in it is the punk attitude and the simplicity. I would like to hear some comments about the song and how do you think it will cope in the contest.

Link doesn't work Antti. Doesn't matter though, because the song doesn't either. Eurovision has long since ceased to be about the songs, it's all about political alliances. Sad, but true.

Thank you James for the helpful information and your opinion. It seems that because I used my phone to make the link it did not work. I am not quite sure if the song does or does not matter but I think the song still matters. At least for the contestants. Here is the name for the finnish contestants: Pertti Kurikan
Nimipäivät and the song is Aina mun pitää. If you paste those into Youtube you can hear the song. The performers are disabled and that fact may play and also might have played a part in the result of the contests. I would still like to hear some opinions about the performance.

It doesn't have a hope in hell in winning the Eurovision song contest (nowhere near bland or cheesy enough) but I like it. Great performance, production and spirit. The guys look like a good set of characters as well. The rhythm has a nice swing to it that's unusual for a punk style.

It's got a great hook, that's for sure. They might do OK, stranger things have happened in Eurovision.

That's certainly possible.

Thank you for your comment James. They are like pioneers in the sense that they are the first disabled performers and that may give them extra points.

I didn't read quite carefully enough. I slightly disagree with this. I feel they might have a chance because of their special disabled status and I think there might also be voters who like this kind of more aggressive stuff who haven't voted before. But it is a slim chance them winning I feel.

More than likely the link you posted is not specific to any particular video, but just shows the featured video of the day (hour? minute?). When I used it I got the now famous skydiving seizure guy.

Visiting this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEiM6l5meQI was one of my least favorite music experiences of the day (year? decade? lifetime?). Since I am not able to understand the lyrics (this problem is not limited to Finnish songs by the way) I had to limit my appreciation to the music and instrumental virtuosity displayed. How do you say loud, uninspired, monotonous and boring in Finnish (Swedish?)?
