Thank you for your comment David. The song is a bit simple I agree. In finnish it is äänekäs, lattea or köyhä, yksitoikkoinen and tylsä. Luckily the song lasts less than 2 minutes as it is those things you said. But as the performers are disabled the song probably has to be simple I think. My opinion about the song seems to change when I read different comments.

I've never really understood how anything to do with music can be turned into a competition. It's far too subjective to be judged as 'better' or 'best', unless perhaps everyone is performing the same piece.

Thank you for your comment James. I think the only way to judge songs is by rating them in a subjective way. Perhaps songs cannot be rated in a way that everybody agrees to as there is no certain definite attributes that all songs should be composed of.

Here is finally a working link to the song and also the 'great' english translation to the song's lyrics made by one band member.

Yes, I recognized the typical trisomy 21 facies, especially evident in the drummer, and we should respect the selection committee for their generous (politically correct?) consideration. If there were a "Special" Eurovision competition, the song might be a contender. There are a great many much better idiot savant (current politically correct appellation "savant") musicians out there. Does this recognition make me an insensitive bastard or just an intellectual elitist? Well, I find very little validity in the concept that the rich among us are there because they are more clever than the poor and thus deserve the rewards of being born bright and raised well to do. And I do not dismiss the accomplishments of those of us with less luck in the  genetic lottery. Still, you asked for my opinion of the music, and it was given with trained and experienced understanding of the source. It is not good music.

They did not even get to the finals. I think it is because the song was not good enough. I hope the next finnish contestant who wins the finnish qualifications wins because of musical merits and not because people try to be nice or tolerant. Although it is ofc important to be tolerant and nice.

So, basically, you hope the Finnish finish next time, ya?

You are correct Craig. Also I would like to winners to win purely because of good music.
