Off to see Al Stewart tonight. He will be accompanied by Dave Nachmanoff. Should be good!

Nice one. Didn't know he was still going. You'll be 'Moving through the crowd like Peter Lorre'

It was nothing short of excellent and if you like Al, or just want to listen to some excellent acoustic guitar playing I recommend catching this tour if you can http://www.alstewart.com/calendar.html There are dates in the UK until 22nd may, then in the USA from 5th June.

Dave Nachmanoff is a real treat on guitar and a couple of solo songs indicate he is worth checking out as a solo artist. The UK tour also features the excellent Tim Renwick on acoustic guitar. (Renwick palyed lead on several of Stewarts albums including Year of the Cat and seems to have played with everyone from Pink Floyd to Elton John at one time or another)

Nachmanoff and Renwick trading licks is something not to be missed.!

Its worth checking out the 2010 Album "Uncorked", one of those rare live albums where I prefer, or at least like every song as much as the original studio versions.

The acoustic treatment and Nachmanoff's playing breath new life into the songs.

Hi,

Around here in Portland, we're lucky to have one good concert a year ... and it looks like in September, we might have Kraftwerk in here.

Not one of my favorites at all ... I would rather see Klaus Schulze or Vangelis or Ryuichi Sakamoto ... and while I have a lot of their stuff, specially Roedelius, Rother and a boat load of the folks in that space, in general, I always thought that Kraftwerk was the band that hurt the electronic thing more than anything else, because after Autobahn, for all its fun, no one could listen to KS, TD and many other serious electronic composers.

Dave Nachmanoff is just the perfect backup for Al.  I asked him for the music to one of his songs and he sent me the notes he used in the studio.  I couldn't decipher a couple of sections and he stuck with me until I got the piece right.

Dave is a great singer/songwriter, but I'm always mermerised by his guitar.
