Well written ballad, both musically and lyrically. Performances are spot on throughout. There's alot to be said for sublety in a ballad, and the lack of over emoting is what makes this for me. Nice mix Ed. Everything in its place.

Danny- Thanks again, brother.  I learn something every time you post.

John (Blipp)- Thank you. Robby did a wonderful job interperting those lyrics.

Chas- Thanks for the listen and comment.

Julien- Three or four tours, wow.  I don't know how some of these people do it.  We are all in their debt.

Brother Strummy-  Thanks for making the trip across the pond and thank you for the kind words.

"control the thickness on the vocals a bit, thin out the back ups" I've been trying, but it's hard to control your thickness and thin out a bit, the older you get? The harder it is to do. Especially if you like beer :-( The good news is I'm back below 210, the bad news? I'm 4'9"...

Came in for another listen. Such a wonderful song. But Robby, you are one funny guy. Always cheer me up when I'm feeling down you do.

:-)

It is good... I just listened to it again, It is my high honor to work with these talented writers, musicians, and producers that let me tag along. And I mean that sincerely. Phil and Ed, both quality artists. I do appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with such talented musicians/writers/producers. Good times, and much respect...

See? I'm not the *-hole some claim? Just misunderstood?

Well, maybe they're right "some of the time?" Awww crap, maybe most of the time? (they are, I can be an Arse.., Just as Ed LOL!)

But some times? Some times? It's all good...

Come on!!! It's hard not to love me when I'm being all cuddly and vulnerable?   :-) However? There are "many people" who will refuse to comment? Simply because I am part of the production... So I really value and thank people who are willing to corroborate based simply on the fact that many here boycott me :-( I am not a bad person?

But I sometimes say or do bad things?  It is difficult to explain or understand... But I am not a bad person? I'm a good person? You just have to dig...

Having served for close on thirty years myself, these lyrics touched me. Such a fine song with just the right level of emotion and performed with the excellence that is the trademark of all involved. Kipling said it with:

"For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck 'im out, the brute!"
But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot; "

Your lyrics are just as powerful if not more so. A truly great song.
