Lynn - Thanks for the listen. I've always had a bend for jazz, but never really studied it like many have. Wish I had a better background in it. Hope to have the opportunity to play some more.

Frank  - Been looking for a while to get that sweet Jazz tone. Been playing Fenders too long and they are great for what they are. I found a really nice Oscar Schmidt Delta King while trying out some Arch Tops. It's an ES knock off but it sounds and plays very well for under $200.  What a difference, it really seems to fit my style much better. Thanks for the kind words. Your playing has always inspired me.

Phil - Not an L7, my guitar teacher had an old L5 which I loved to play when he would let me. This is a cheap ES knock off, but it plays and sounds great. One day I picked it up in a guitar shop, played it , liked it and bought it.

Mark - Thanks so much for the listen and kind words. I've always enjoyed your music. Your quite the player.

Kevin - I recorded this Live in the studio, so it wouldn't surprise me if the tracking of my guitar was off from the midi's.  So I tried sliding my stuff a bit earlier but to my dismay it really didn't get much better. I'll take better notice of the synchronization of the soft synths in the future. This one probably isn't worth the effort. Thanks for your inputs, they are greatly appreciated.

I listened to this earlier, and I listened to it again now. I did not know what to say then, still not too sure now. It sounds pretty good, but (keep in mind I know very little about jazz), it seems to me like you miss many an opportunity with the guitar, starting early on. I do not know how to describe it, but there were "hits" by the band that were overlooked by the guitar. To me (again) the three main elements (rhythm, beat, swing) were all on different stages. It feels disconnected. And of course, the main critique of Buddy Rich was his over use of cymbals, and I found that to be the case here. But... this may well be what it is supposed to be. I don't really know, so please correct me if my ignorance is showing.

Shad - Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment. Yeah, I didn't spend much time on this one. This isn't a planned out composition and performance. Just me playing along to some backing tracks that I really wasn't very  familiar with which explains the disconnect. I appreciate your time and honest comments and no it's not your ignorance, more your trained ear. Hope spring comes to you up there soon. I'll be missing Canada when the spring finally hits!

I quite enjoyed that though I found the snare a little too present in some passages and just a little mechanical.

Thanks for sharing

Well done!

wookie - Thanks for the listen.  Sorry about the snare.... I didn't program the backing tracks and had a difficult time picking a drum kit which would work.

chasmg - Thanks for your kind words. sometimes I need the extra encouragement to push me on to another project. Hope to be back with something else in the near future.

Blipp - Your talent for production has been an inspiration to me. I'd love to swap some of my guitar talent for some of your eclectic production talent.  Thanks for the listen and kind words.

geeare1 - Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment. I was hoping to achieve a nice sweet tone from this guitar and I'm happy with it. Hope you enjoyed it.

NICE!!  Well played but it didn't sound like Stella By Starlight to me.  I'll have to listen again.  That's jazz for ya.  Really some fast riffs, Tap.  Did you do the music or did you play guitar to an already existing track.  Man, that bass was walkin".  Sweet playin', brother!
