John
It is the TH1 version for those that are in the preview program. This is the full and final version.

I'd like to know what you think of 10 Larry?

I really like it John.  The Start Menu is VASTLY improved.  It's
snappy and stable.

While it will, for most, take some getting used to, it's a vast improvement.

I'm looking forward to 10...

I like 8, as it happens, and have never understood why so many peeps wanted a "classic" start menu.

Anyway... Onwards and upwards with the OS... I'll be upgrading as soon as I know for sure that Roland have caught up with their Q-C drivers.

cheers

Doktor Avalanche
This is a release candidate version, may not necessarily be the final.

I fall into that "peeps" category .....I just didn't like the tiles and Metro's UI. I suppose it was more of a comfort/easier to navigate and finding things with the earlier versions that I was accustomed to. The tile thing may have been more practical for the Win8 Phone (which I did have at the time), but not for the desktop.

I ended up using "Classic Shell" which works out great. I'll be certainly switching to Win 10 shortly (after seeing how it pans out with all you testers out there as well as checking for driver updates for my hardware).

I was very used to 8 an 8.1, and didn't find the GUI terrible...
While I didn't really like going through 3 screens to get to
something (min of 2 if not on the Desktop).

This is an improved start menu from the one contained in 7,
and it's pretty slick...

My workflow, from turning on lappy is, click on one of them pick icons with my mouse, usually just Desktop, and then I have all my day to day programs pinned to my task bar.

If I then want to open say Paint, which I don't have pinned, I click on the windows key, start typing pai, and by that time, the Paint icon has focus and I hit enter, so my hands don't even reach for the mouse until I need to.

I'm looking forward to 10 though, because, even though I haven't seen it yet, it will cater for all our needs
