So you're an "artist", formally known as Synkrotron?

Since my PC was built by ADK pro audio, I contacted them asking for advice on this Windows 10. They said to go ahead and reserve my copy and download it, but to wait to install until they can test the drivers and whatever. Sounds like the smart way to go. I'm glad and optimistic that you guys are liking it and seem to be having no problems.

I absolutely hate with a passion Windows 8.  I am one of "those" people.

I'm hoping Win 10 is even better at handling multi cores that Win 8. And RAM efficiency. Quad cores and 8 threads is pretty much the standard now and plenty have more. I would think a part of the focus in Win 10 would be using them more efficiently. Hope so anyway. Does anyone remember the test someone did on Win 8 before it came out showing RAM efficiency and over all speed gains in audio production? I remember seeing it at this site and might even had something to do with Cakewalk. That was a big reason I went to Win 8.

Are there signs of the purported audio latency improvements?

My DAW's have performed equally or better then Win 8.1...
I haven't "benchmarked" anything per se...but it seems to be
as good or better...

On the same machine my DPC latency is considerably higher on Win 8.1 than it was on Win 7 SP1. Would be nice if it came back down with Win 10

Seems to me these improvements are TBA and TBC. Just like Sonar some feature, improvement or major performance benefit will come around one month which I might like, which could make me want the product.

The only thing that makes me want Windows 10 right now is a) My aging Win7 office laptop needs rebuilding b) It's the latest OS.

For a DAW environment I guess if I was running Windows 7 I might see a significant performance increase, but I'm yet to be convinced from 8.1

Later on I will need it because I want to run a supported OS as long as possible, and I'd prefer not to pay for it.
