I recently was trying to add windows updates back to my win 7 so I could try windows 10. I had updates turned off and you need that to upgrade to windows 10...or did need it. As it turned out somehow my computer was missing an important file needed so I went online to try and rectify the problem. I came across a thread on the subject and a person on there claimed that when he installed FixMyPc it added the lost file...so I though WTH I'll just spend the 39.00 to do that.

Long story short...it DIDN'T give me the file I needed and it removed some of my vst licenses. RED FLAG! Don't use FixMyPc!

Sorry to hear that Tim. I've seen that when Googling for PC issues, but always avoided them. I prefer to get help from places like Windows 7 Forums, Windows 8 Forums, or here etc...
At least it was only $39.

That's a lot of DAW money.  That's at least a Waves plugin when they are on sale.

I'm always cautious of utilities that that don't give you a lot of control.  I no longer buy those security suites.

I have always steered well clear of such things, to me even the names of a lot of this type of stuff screams out 'RUN, RUN FAST, AND RUN FAR'

Hope it all ends well for you.

I followed the following procedure and it worked perfectly. Won't trash your system.

1. Go to https://www.dropbox.com/s...win10fix_full.zip?dl=0 and download the file.
2. Copy the win10fix_full.bat file to anywhere else like desktop.
3. Right click the file and click run as administrator.
4. Follow the screen instruction untill to come to main menu screen.
5. On main menu screen do step 1 first and check if you go the updates insalled and and then press any key it will take you back to main menu.
6. Now do step 2 which only takes like 1 second and should have the icon in the task bar.

Same for SpeedUpMyPC from Uniblue. I have their RegistryCleaner and DriverScanner utilities and am very happy with both. But...

I tried SpeedUpMyPC several years ago...and it did...in a way.

That's right...I got to the Blue Screen of Death MUCH more quickly!

Took me weeks to fully recover. Worse than any virus I've ever had.
