Hi gents,
last week one of my harddrives crashed......
so far -so bad.
I had to install ( ..... ) all music software like  Splat , fx vsti aso new
cause I like to take the chance to clean up my box.
During the installation of the Waves woli Version 9 everything appears to work good,
but if I do a vst scan- the scanner is always asking for the " WAVESHELL 9.3.64 bit" .
I pointed the surch window towards the actuell position of the waveshell- but no fun......

Then I had the  idea to change the path of the harddisk like it has been before the
harddisk crash -I/VST(I)s- cause the vst scanner is asking for that path---
but no love......
Any of  the software experts has an idea, what to do ?
Thanks in advance.....

You can always just uninstall and then download and reinstall the WOLI...just make sure to check the appropriate task when the dialog pops up...i.e. fix or repair, add new plugin, etc...

All your licenses are on the WAVES cloud now.  My guess is you've pegged them to your computer (DAW) and not a flash drive.  This is probably the cause of your problems.  You can check in with WAVES (they're pretty good about solving your issues) or you could try migrating your license to a flash drive and off of your DAW...if that's where you told the waves license center you wanted them.  That way, no matter what happens to your DAW your licenses should remain unaffected.  HTH.

Waves tech support is awesome! If you're not up to date on WUP, you can buy a cheap single plug just so you have a current WUP. They have fixed me up in short order in the past. When you run Woli, make sure everything you want to install and everything already installed that you want to remain is checked.

I have both folders (the ones for WaveShell VST3_9.3x64.vst and WaveShell VST_9.3x64.dll) listed in SONAR's VST folder scan list. I used Waves default installation. My folders are C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST and C:\Program Files\VSTPlugIns respectively. That's working for me.

Waves not only knows their own products well, they know much about how Sonar deals with them, and what needs to be fixed. I've had excellent results with Waves Support.

Does buying a new cheap plug give you WUP rights on your old Waves stuff, Rock?

I don't think so, but you will be able to get help for overall/general problems, like the OP type thing, and it's not unheard of that they will help you out with other issues if you have 'some' current WUP, maybe more inclined to at least. This is from what I have read in various places.

Here's the fix from Waves.

Delete Waves folder found at %appdata% Roaming/Waves. Then reinstall Waves.
