Hi Frank - Very many thanks and so pleased you like this song.

Hi Vicente - Sincere thanks - those Vocaloids really do take a lot of work to get something vaguely approaching clarity from them. I'm getting there - but not yet!

Hi Herb - Very many thanks - By chance someone I recently met turned out to be a sound engineer on my little Isle who produces CDs for some local groups. He actually liked my recent free CD and played it to some members of a local group who also liked it. Sooooooo (!) perhaps there is a chance of a real singer singing my songs - Dreams do come true!

Malcolmb,

I really like this. It has that “We’ll Meet Again” or “Fields Of Gold” melancholia going on in there. Miriam and Avanna did a nice job as well. At this point I expect to hear Miriam when I check out one of your tunes.

As others have said, the intro seems a bit extended but other than that - awesome.  It’s one of those tunes that puts you in an introspective mood.  I would not have thought a synth-chick could accomplish that, but in this case it (she/they) did. I believe that to be able to do that (affect someone’s mood or touch them in some way) is a sign of a really good tune. This is a good one - lyrics, music and end result, quite nice.

Hi Manny - Sincere thanks and so pleased you like it. Very much agree with "melancholia" - others have said the same to me and apparently two Ladies even burst into tears on hearing the piece - shame on me!

I love your expression "synth-chick"! And so does Miriam! Women are a constant source of puzzlement to me!

Good to hear another fine tune from you Mal. How does this vocaloid thingy work? I am fascinated.

Hi Shad - Sincere thanks and so pleased you like this piece. To save cluttering up this thread, I'll PM you here with the wonders of Vocaloid! If anyone else would like to know a bit more about Vocaloid, please also PM me here - as you can hear from the music, I am definitely not an expert, but I am learning!

Hi Malcolmb,

It's been a while since I have listened to your music.  This piece is your best so far IMO.  I love the melody.  You did great on the guitar parts.  I realize you write out the score first and it translated so well in this song.

I wish I could hear this with a real vocal (as mentioned earlier in this thread) but again, the feeling and melody are terrific.

The strings are grand.

Good job to you.

Rimshot

Malcomb,

Really fine song and mix.   The song transports the listener to another place..   Like others' commented, I would like to hear it with a real singer.

Regards

Very beautiful and touching Malcomb.
Amazing how the depth of this song reached me even with Miriam singing it.

BTW, does Miriam come in a blow up version??

Vocaloid or not, this is a hauntingly beautiful song.  Your writing is full of depth and pathos.  Should you ever get a real singer, your songs will soar.  Cheers.

Hi Rimshot, Mark, Tim and Lynn - Sincere thanks and so very pleased you like this song. It really does humble me that song writers of such distinction as yourselves and everyone else who have taken the time to listen and comment on this song should like my music. Sincerely thank you all.

Tim - "blow up version"? That is a thought that really does make my eyes glaze! Now all I have to do is explain what it means to Miriam who has never heard that expression before - I think I am going down the Pub and may not be back for some time!
