great song.  As others have pointed out, sounds somewhat like later Cream.

The sustain of the guitar does make the soundfield tilt to the right.  One of my tricks is to move such a sound toward the center when the vocals aren't filling that spot.  I justify it by noting that guitarists often step to center stage during their live fills.  Obviously they don't have robot amps that follow them (esp. Cream - that would be one bigass robot), but the illusion works.

Lynn, Your versatility is showing also. Very nice song with lots of interesting things going on throughout. Good vocal and lyrics on this piece. Does tell a story.
