Love the chorus on this song, it really soars. I liked the bass line, seemed to fit nicely and break out of the box occasionally.

Reminds me of the big U2 sound, where the reverb wash is an integral part of the big sound. Lovely music, nice chord progressions.

The lead vocalist has great expression--but there's a lot to contend with in this complex mix.

I'm trying to think of ways to fatten up the lead vocal, perhaps right where the chorus comes in the first time.

Have you thought about maybe double-tracking? Or a short slapback echo on the vocal track, or a subtle chorusing plugin? Something to give the vocal track the weight and presence to keep up with the wonderful band sound.

I like the vocals not crazy bout the intense reverb. I think it would be more effective to use echo more sparingly during the verses. The balance of the instruments is good. Perhaps the use of dynamics ( overall level ) as the song progresses would be a nice addition.

Really nice tune, certainly has that 80's vibe to it. Performances are all good as well as the final mix. Enjoyed the listen.

Great track!  It has a very nice hook on the chorus.  Very nice arrangement and it really shows you put some work on it.  On the vocals I would keep the echo in the bridge but reduce it a bit on the verse.

Very different but nicely done. Seems to be a few clitches hear and there or maybe it's just me, but over all a great sound and nice vocals. Nice guitar work and sound.

Peace be with you. Blessings, John

I heard U2 also. Vox sound very Sting-like. Mix seems a bit left side heavy but it works. Would be nice to hear some of that rhythm guitar on the right along with the left.

Thanks for all these comments guys!
Blipp - you're very kind - I'll have to check the Chameleons out. Not sure I was really after an '80s vibe, so it's interesting to hear those comparisons.

I'm not really a huge fan of '80s music generally, but as I grew up in the '80s it's probably stuck in my subconscious! (There are exceptions, eg i think Talk Talk went on to be one of the most innovative bands in history). I think I was aiming here for a big sound but with a modern feel. I'll have to figure if there's something I can do to make it less '80s! British indie band Doves do a lot of big productions, euphoric / epic sounds, with liberal
use of delay and reverb type effects but make it sound modern, it's that kind of sonic approach I was aiming for here. This has got me thinking I maybe made some wrong turns somewhere....

aumente - cheers man
jamesg - thanks - the soaring chorus was definitely what I was after here
wookeei - thanks for listening
ultimatemusicsnob - thanks - I take on board those comments. I'll have a play around with those vocals and see what I can do to fatten them up
tap - cheers, yeah, seem like there's a few thinking the 'verb is too heavy in the verses
paulo - thanks for listening
scottytunes - thanks. I'd not noticed the panning issue - thanks for flagging it. I'll review when I go back to it.

Really appreciate all that feedback. I've needed a break from this one but I'll go back soon and do some more work on it with all those comments in mind and re-post.
