Here's a new song I've been working on. The buss levels aren't final by any means, but by and large, this is it. The one thing I need is vocals. I can't sing or scream. My voice is so weak that even an auto-tuner can't detect pitch correctly.

Give it a listen. I'd love any comments. But mostly, if you think you'd like to do the vocals, I can send you a mixdown version of the project. I live in the sticks and there just aren't any vocalists for my style around. I tried a few other places on the inet, but so far, nobody has stepped forward. I was hoping that maybe one of the creative folks here would.

Tough to call without the vocals adding them could well change so many things.

PS Wookiee singing kills at a parsec so sorry no offers here for yours and all of earth's sanity.

I could lay down a crappy sample if you wish. But basically, it's a screamo metal song. Think of "King Diamond" or "Black Veil Brides".

Well, you've got a good track there, and the genre allows you a lot of latitude vocally.  If you have difficulty with pitch you can try growling the tune like a lot of metal singers do.

I am serious people have died in the presence of Wookiee singing very pitiful and apparently very painful.  Worse than being beaten around the head with the soggy ends of their own limbs

Well, a week later and still have no vocals. I have given this a lot of thought though, and got to feeling like maybe screamo isn't the way to go since the majority of the parts where vocals would be is relatively quiet anyway. I think at this point, anybody with strong presence and grit could do it. If you know anybody, please tell me. This endeavor is becoming quite depressing.

Generally the song writer writes both the lyrics and music for the vocal track. While you have have created a competent backing track, you have given no melody aspects, no lyrical ideas, nor any real hook that I can determine. You have given little to work with and are basically asking others to write it for you. You might get more help if you give a bit more to chew on.

its a great track man. don't let the vocals/lyrics get you down. move on to the next one and come back to it when something hits you. i make a disc of my last 20-30 tracks every few months and drive around just listening to them and thinking of ideas of how to finish them. or just make it a straight instrumental. why not?

sounding really good though.

it does sound great and well put together. But its metal, man, these melodies and lyrics write themselves.

Oh! I have lyrics and a melody actually. In fact, the demo project I planned to hand out to those who attempt it has a mixdown of the music, a separate melody track (so you can here what I had in mind), and a midi track with lyrics to go along with it. Here's a link to it.

If you attempt this, there is no need for plug-ins because I'm just going to copy the clips into the master project anyway. And try to do each phrase in it's own punch-in clip. Layered or own track is ok. The melody and timing isn't 100% writtten in stone. There is room to play with it. I just can't sing, so my melodies usually tend to be as flat as my voice. LOL

Asthma doesn't help.

So yeah, I actually HAVE the lyrics and melody, I just can't sing. =)
