I know what you mean, John. For you it's getting into the right groove, exploiting it and then changing it up with a poly rhythm or tempo change to keep it moving and interesting. Your use of textures is incredible and seems to replace the need for a lead instrument which in itself is a testiment to your talent as a song crafter.

"I'd been avoiding trying to write something new as i was scared i would'nt be able to..."

Welcome to the club, John .  Looks like you broke out of it big time with this one.   The movement is more subtle than some of your other pieces, but then you sprang that decelerando on us.  Very sneaky and very cool.  I enjoyed the listen very much.  Keep 'em coming.

Great tune. Liked it. Would like it better if you had kept the dynamics. . It is all very clear and well defined... but it is also very even. That makes it far less interesting sonically. I know there is a trend toward more and more compression, but it is a huge mistake IMO and I will always prompt for dynamics when necessary.

Yeah i know what you mean Shad and i sympathise with what you're saying as i complain sometimes about how some music today is over-compressed.   I was trying with this one to see if i could get it similar to how the stuff i have on commercial cds sound, so i did go with extra limiting, but that said, i am pretty happy with it as it turned out.

Point taken though.

Yes, this has some nice grooves going on in it. Nice drums and synth. It would be awesome with some screaming guitar somewhere in the middle to create a bit more havic. Man that ending was wild.

Peace be with you. Blessings, John

Thanks John. Blessings to you too. :-)

The intertwined bass lines nice.

Thanks for sharing

Cheers John. pleased you liked it.

Yep, i do like to interwine melodic lines as much as i can as i find it so appealing, and i hope others do too. :-)
