I am forever barred from complaining about any and all of the examples of bad grammar I see and hear. For once, a very long time ago, when I was a lad I eagerly regaled a few friends about a new book I had just finished that I (genuinely) both enjoyed immensely and found intellectually stimulating on the atrocious state of the English language. Its author was the famous film critic and curmudgeon, John Simon. And the book was entitled, "Paradigms Lost". Only, as I had not yet read Milton's tome to which the title paid homage, and quite plainly did not "get it", I pronounced it Pair-ah-Dijums Lost. It remains one of the true horrors and nadirs of my life and shall forever be both "a stone in my shoe" and a reminder of what it truly feels like to be hoist on ones own pitard. In short, it stings.

I sometimes feel like the only person who distinguishes it's from its. Also putting apostrophes after an 's' to show plural possession as in "My parents' house," and to indicate the possessive of a name which ends in 's' as in "James' guitar."

I'm shocked at how many people are substituting "of" for "have" these days, e.g. "I shouldn't of done that."

I think most of this comes from two areas now:  First, the parents of the current generation of online kids were never forced to actually learn what they needed to in school.  There's was a lot of this entitlement or self-esteem B.S. going on where the teachers were told not make things too hard or fail a child because it would hurt their feelings.  Now those kids are parents and the children aren't being corrected by them so they don't realize they're wrong.  The second area, which is probably part of the first, is that both in the media and among themselves they hear the same incorrect grammar which reinforces the poor behavior.

There are far more important issues in life to be concerned about. Bad grammar isn't one of them

There are millions of people born with mild autism, or due to a terrible accident -- they may initially look fine to you and I, but have terrible issues coping with school (learning and peers) - sadly this continues throughout their life in general.  I have met some of the most kindhearted people who are either mildly or severely autistic, some have a natural talent for arts and music. As a young kid, I performed (piano/vocal) with many other kids (talent group of various musicians and dancers) to raise money for the disadvantage and for other charities.

I did not do well at school (won't elaborate), an unfortunate part of my family's genes (I rather not talk about here). I most certainly do know first-hand what it is like to be subjected to prejudice and bullying. But that didn't not stop me from pursuing a professional career in music. All my entire life -- music has been a source of great enjoyment and reward for me.

True, there are things far worse than using bad grammar.  Listening to rap for example.
