My mind's made up! I lost my gig to a 22 yr old that can't play his way out of a paper bag but he looks "Cool" trying to play. He want me to "teach him" how to play like I do but can't give me any money for that info.
I gave this alot of thought and considering I don't have much time left I have decided to do what I really want to do! 
 
I want to go to Colorado! if anyone can help in this endeavor please let me know. I figure I can rent a car. Get lodging for me and my dog all the way up and back. I just need to figure out when would be the best time. You know, best bang for my buck! I am serious about this!

I'm NOT asking for money! I'm asking for input on how to go about getting there and where to go when I do

Now that we've started hanging out more and meeting people outside of our Cirque entourage, I'm stoke to realize that there are lots of guys my age and even older putting together rock and metal bands and all.
 
You know, not just guys who want to play Freebird for drunk people who don't care, but guys with a passion.
 
Before I moved here, I thought I was pretty much obsolete as a musician, except maybe for the stuff with my wife. Here there's a whole world of possibilities for us. 
 
Maybe it's the nature of life out here - a lot of people from everywhere who didn't come here to have kids and live the quiet life.

We have had some late season snow and A-Basin is open.
 
Mind the usage laws if you partake.
The only place it is legal is in your home (or hotel room but this has it's troubles).
 
Not in in your car, same as open container / dui.
Not on the street. same as alcohol laws.
NOT ON THE SLOPES.
 
Everyone can smell the pungent weed coming out of cars on the way to and from the slopes. That means the cops can too.
 
I was returning from a dog walk this morning along lake Dillon when I saw a highway patrol driving into Dillon away from A-Basin with a tow truck behind towing a red civic with the skis still in the roof rack. There was an unusual amount of late season skier traffic this morning following the snow. - Looks like they got one.
 
We run a networking service company and maintain a network at one of the garden / dispensaries. The data closet is it the garden. It's all pretty surreal.
 
 
 
 
 

Lots of very helpful info in this Fred!! I'm not planning to visit the tourist sites.  Too expensive and I Am, after all A Professional Wimp. The last time I skied I broke my arm. I would really like a quite hotel/motel near a coffee shop. From what I hear of the dispensaries I will have to be conservative with the money. Brownies are on my agenda and munchies beget munchies in this case

Copper Mountain ski resort in Colorado ran an add in the Onion that said 'It's not the Olympics, get as high as you want.' with a picture of a skier flying high.
 
Now, I left Colorado in 1999, so things may have changed, but when I was there, there was a lot of tolerance.
