I spent the night in jail at Midtown Community Court in Manhattan about 12 years ago. The novelty wore off once I realized that it was too cold to sleep without my jacket on, and too uncomfortable to sleep without using my jacket as a pillow. Plus there was a blocked toilet right next to my "bed" (bench). To cap it all off, the guards were d-bags who blasted rap music loud all night right by the cells, and they would walk down the hall rattling their stick off the bars every half an hour or so. Then I had the pleasure of being shackled to 12 other guys (hands and feet) and being shuffled to court in the morning.
Feels good to get out though! Hope your stay is slightly more pleasant than mine...
