Hi Everyone,

Just finished this piece that I wrote to challenge myself to come up with a theme for an action-adventure movie set in the Arizona desert.  I was trying to capture the feel of the barren desert landscape, then going into an action scene out of that opening scene.

I recorded this in Sonar X1 Producer using a dobro, classical guitar, Studio Strings, and Stylus RMX.   I'm pushing myself to compose more things and improve my orchestration chops.   This is the best way I know to do that by composing more stuff and try new things to find out what works.

You can hear the song at this link:  http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12182466
Thanks for listening!  --Jim

What foxwolfen said.  The mix of guitars, strings, and percussion blend into a field of huge tones and depth that I find very rare anywhere.  Your use of reverb is right on the money.  This couldn't be more professional.  Bravo!

Sometimes I like to go to the last page and find the song with the lowest hits and comments and this one was it. Well, I have to say you were cheated, because you have done a great work hear and have done exactly what you started out to do. This was awesome and you hit your mark. I did a desert song also, but it wasn't in Arizona, but a land far, far away. It is called Searching for the Dead Sea Scrolls and you can listen to it on my soundclick link below. I enjoyed yours, hope you will enjoy mine. Very nice work you did here, thank you for sharing.

Peace be with you. Blessings, John

That's very nice indeed Jim. I like your sound choices very much, and the use of slide dobro set against a nylon string guitar is really atmospheric. Great groove too.
