Hi all,
Anyone looking for a simple tuner plugin, seems to work well with Platinum, documentation also refers to setup in Sonar Platinum.
$49-50.
Cheers

I'm sold on the little clip on tuners like the Snark:

Nothing to plug in, pretty accurate, and it's cheap.

Have one in my Standard tuned Guitar case all the time...
I still have a Pitch Black Chrome on my Pedal Board...

TC also have a new clip-on poly tuner, typo meant $39-50 for plugin (I have to add ~30% to US$, way up here in Canada.)
Thanks for replies

The Snark tunes work great... (with a couple of small caveats)
  • In a loud band scenario (commercial PA), the background noise affects pitch tracking of low notes.
  • On guitars with smaller headstocks (PRS, MusicMan), there's not a lot of free space to clip them.

The TC Polytune app for iPhone was one of the best tuners I've ever used (bar none).
Accurate and super stable pitch tracking.
I actually like it better than the pedal.
If the VST plugin is that smooth, it would be worth the $49.

I always have a bit of trouble tuning the low E on basses with any tuner unless the strings are brand new. Hitting either the octave harmonic or the x2 harmonic on the 5th fret helps.

This is where the iPhone TC Polytune app really shines.
Tracks low notes super smooth... no jumping around

When the sub cabs are cranking, all of my clip-on tuners have issues (Snark, Korg, etc).

For pedals, I like the HardWire HT-6 polyphonic tuner better than the TC Polytune.
It's a bit more stable and easier to see on a dark stage.
Ironically, I find the Android version of the HT-6 app all but useless (jumps around constantly).

The polyphonic tuner in the Boss GT-100 is also very nice.

In some cases, getting rid of excessive overtones can help tuner tracking.
ie:  Switch to the neck pickup and roll off the tone control.

Interesting, has some nice features.
I wonder how it compares to my Stobosoft 2.0? I 've been using that for years. It's worked well on all my OS versions & daws.
Is there a standalone version option? I don't care for only being able to use one instance of the PolyTune plug-in at a time.
The Peterson is standalone which is so much nicer than vst per instance. Routed through my RME & board It's always on, no matter what guitar track or daw I'm working on.
