Then it looks like a change for a week or so... to the scattered afternoon showers we get every spring and summer.. of course, I guess it could be worse. I was not thinking about the fact that some of you live in Washington or Oregon.... or worse (for miserable weather) Great Britain. Everything is relative though.  (until it isn't).

Pointless looking at weather forecasts past 72 hours ahead, they're just guessing.

Just to clear up a few misconceptions.  Portland only gets an average of 43.5 inches of rain per year.  Compare that to New York City which gets 46.6 in Brooklyn and 49.9 in Central Park.  The difference is that Portland has 164 days of precipitation while New York gets all of theirs in only 121 days (on average).

Here in Great Britain 68% of our days are overcast, imbuing us with a wistful melancholy, and making us prone to binge drinking and casual violence.

On the plus side, we do have Nectar Points.

our only drinking water is snow melt.
and what little bit happens to run into the reservoirs.

oh yea,
only at about 50% of our typical snowfall this season,
things are looking grim.

Hi,

Not complaining ... the Columbia river is still about an inch or two below normal levels, and we need the rain.

If we get enough, it also helps the supply chain through to Northern California ... but then, that state refuses to learn that timber'ing is the root of their problems ... !!!

I don't mind the rain. I'd prefer cloudy days to sunny ones most of the time. In the area where I live, people have not mastered "sunglasses" technology. As a result, they are incapable of driving in sunny conditions. This genetic disability has no treatment or cure. Various education and behavior modification programs have been attempted only to be abandoned as colossal failures. This condition affects 100% of the drivers in front of me on the Tollway.

I also plan to pencil in complaints about the heat later this summer.
