Yes I would appreciate a heads up if Mr. Fisher is in NYC! Incredible that he's still gigging really...

He's in his 70's but according to my friend he wont start the day without a full English breakfast. Bacon, sausage, eggs and baked beans. He also says the touring can't last too much longer. I've not met him but I was given a few of his LP's and may still have a few around. I'll have to check.

Another great guitarist if you're into folk is John Doyle. He's a fantastic fingerpicker and singer but he's also possibly the best Irish rhythm player I've heard. To hear him accompany a fiddle player is amazing.

He made it himself apparently. Not the shape I would have gone for but it does have a nice, distinctive sound. As far as I know Dave Evans is now semi retired and making/repairing instruments in Belgium.

I also think his heels are spectacular.

Beautiful! I love the guy's voice. It doesn't really seem to have deteriorated with age at all. I think all of his old stuff is on Spotify, some incredible stuff.

Here's another of my favorites, the late Micheal O'Domhnaill of the Bothy Band. Another great picker/singer, and one of the early DADGAD pioneers. Davy Graham is credited with popularizing the tuning in the 60's, but I think O'Domhnaill was one of the first to apply it to Irish music. Lord Franklin is a beautiful old tune, John Renbourn recorded a great version as well.
