Ample Sound has updated Ample Guitar (AGG,AGFAGPAGLAGMAGT and AGML) and Ample Bass (ABPABJ) to version 2.1.0.
Changes:
  • Added MIDI guitar support. Users can record complete fingering and some articulations (Slide, Hammer On&Pull Off, etc) using MIDI guitar without any keyswitches.
  • New GUIs for extension libraries.
  • Added trial period for extension libraries.
  • Improved Open String First. Users now can specify which strings to be examined.
  • Added sync button for tab player.
  • Fixed potential clicks when working in 48kHz and 96kHz.
  • Fixed a voice bug when playing long time with hold pedal.
  • Replaced a mistaken sample of ABP.
All updates are free of charge for owners of corresponding Ample Bass software. Users can get their updates through the MyAmpleSound page.

Before you buy one Andy, first test it out completely at a music store......there's been a lot of mixed opinions/reviews on the actual usage of the YRG. I personally like to feel the strings on my guitar when playing and the YRG doesn't have that (at least not for one hand). The tracking & response is supposed to be quite good though......MG2 is still the best solution for me (at the moment).

Yeah, Mesh, I did a bit more research on it afterwards... It certainly has its limitations, but as another MIDI controller... I dunno... Might be okay. Even SOS give it a good write up.

Can't find one in the UK though, and I ain't ordering one off the 'net...

Do these just install over the older one or should we uninstall first?

As long as you are at the 2.0 level you can install the update over your existing installs. If any of them are still at the 1.? level you should request a full installer and then it will make a separate 2.? folder. I have both the 1.? install and the 2.? installs on my machines. HTH!
