I don't know what it was about this simple song that made it so difficult for me to record.  I struggled to come up with guitar fills and accents for this number (fills -since I didn't really leave room for a lead break).  It may have been because this number turned out to be more of a rocker than the 1950's style Blues number that I had intended.  I gave up when I realized that the talent of Mark (CLEAN)certainly could come up with something.  He did --- just for the asking --- and I think that what he came up with fit the song perfectly.  Thank you Mark!  I also realize sound effects are usually hokey but I couldn't help myself.

So given all of these concerns, I would appreciate any crit's, feedback, comments, etc.

Thanks.

Hey Freddy, you really rewrote the book on this song.  The synth bass is rarely associated with the blues, yet it provided much of the drive for this tune.  And, the chord progression was something different than the typical I-IV-V progression we usually get.  The tone of your guitar was thick and just right for this, and you sang it well.  I could see those clouds rolling across the bay.  I applaud you for going outside the box!

Indeed. Really nice twist to the blues. Brilliant tune. However, Freddy... the mix... what happened there? I think I would enjoy mixing this tune. I am not saying I can do it better, but it is such a cool song, it would be a blast to work on.

Love it Freddy & Mark... The synth bass works for me too...

I'd lose the drum fills on the choruses (V-chord), or bring 'em in earlier so they end with a crash on the down-beat of the E chord... they sound out of place and distracting... you lose momentium there...

very cool tune...

Good stuff. I liked the chord progression.
I'm hearing separation between the vox and backer.
I think of most rock blues as having a more embedded vox that is screamed out (with verb and delay), both to get on top of the "live" band and to add feeling.
I'm uncomfortable with the Buddy Holly Ooo-ahoo touches (because I'm old enough to have been a big fan) but they might still work if the track has some reverb/delay, which would also mix it into the backer.
Good driving backer BTW, just needs to be up front more.
One man's opinion after all.

This chugs along nicely with a groove that locks you in right from the off.

I like the synth bass too, adds a nice twist.

Some great guitar licks from Mark and cool vocals from you Freddy.

Nice one.

Yeah, that works for me. The synth bass has just the right sense of urgency for the tune. Good stuff.
