I have a thing for white guitars.

When we saw KISS last November, I was telling my wife how Thayer's white LP would have made a much better Signature guitar than the silver one Epiphone had released in 2014. A few months later, they announced the 2015 signature - based on his white guitar. I thought I'd keep an eye on it, though I didn't really want to buy another Epiphone LP.

Then I started shopping for Gibsons, and I stumbled upon the pre-2014 white Les Paul Studio. But before I could proceed any further it had vanished...

I was going round and round in the process of finding that next guitar, keeping in mind that I may very well have to invest again in something completely different a few months from now and all, going from SG to LP and back again, then even browsing ESPs. My eyes were set on the Traditional Pro, but that was a nice chunk of cash to put on a single guitar.

So this afternoon, after stumbling upon another LP Studio, my wife didn't take no chances... Mine should be here sometime next week - hopefully Wednesday.

I'm crossing my fingers that this will be a keeper - I don't really like to order guitars online, but w/ those pre-2015 guitars, it's often the only option.

Fortunately, I now have access to a great tech, if anything needs special care.

I have a thing for white guitars, too - I have 4 of them.

White LPs are real sharp looking  ...and it's on my "hopefully someday" list.

Funnily enough, the guitar that first caused me to move away from Fender strat was a white Epiphone LP Junior that I bought before we flew to Europe and Russia. I didn't want to risk taking my precious guitar w/ me.

I loved the simplicity of that guitar...

It's sort of fitting that I finally get my white Gibson Les Paul...

I hope you like it! It looks great! Is that an ebony fretboard?

Thanks. :)

This picture isn't one of the exact guitar. Mine has a paler granadillo fretboard. I know some purists would go "no way" but as the guys in that Chapman review put it - whatever... :P

Ebony would have been killer, but I can perfectly live w/ this one.

So closer to this...

More importantly, no min-etune or any oddity. The only special feature is coil-splitting. I never use that on my Epi, but it doesn't hurt either.

I don't remember exactly which years it was, but for a while the white Studios came with an ebony fret board. I've been playing my Strat a lot lately as well. I have a bit of a rekindled love afair going with the Strat, again.

I like white guitars and basses, as well.  I think they look better under stage lighting.
