Thank you all for listening and commenting. It's good to get a note from different people with different systems and I'll take them all into account on the next mix.

Once again, thanks to Randy for being on Point for this. He did a heroic job, IMHO.

Cheers and happy xmas to all.

Nice. Good to hear all of you guys.
Randy was a good call for the vox, the bass is in the pocket, and that horn section is classic.
I also liked that little bit with the dirty keys. Would have liked to hear more of that, but that's just me. I have a weakness for that sort of thing.
Good job all around.

Nice!  I'd forgotten about this song.

It reminds me of the Talking Heads, but if David Byrne had been autotuned down an octave...

Great mix, great arrangement, great recording!

Really great job on this one guys. I loved the mix and the performance. I would have to side with Herb and Bub on their thoughts about "air" as I felt the exact same way while listening. None of it is muddy or anything...it's perfect for the genre/time period. I'd just add a bit of air just so it pops a little harder. Basically, you got an analog sounding mix here in my opinion which is awesome. Just a little more presence though or a curb on the lows for me so it's not quite as dark.

Horns were incredible....good drum sounds, Paul smokes, Randy rocks on vox, it's just a great tune all across the board. Thanks for sharing guys...really enjoyed this. :)

Came back to this after a year away and remixed it to test my new audio interface. Sonar X2 this time, with some nice UAD plugins from the Apollo. Tighter and lighter, I think.

Nice to see you Paul.

Sounds great turned down low, and even better cranked up. Good stuff.

btw, did you do a follow-up to Monjour?

Yes, James, we did. It's called Analog Universe and it's been playing on smooth jazz and ambient stations all over USA and Europe for a couple of months. It was also in the Echoes top ten last month.

I haven't plugged it here because although we wrote it using sonar, we mixed it in samplitude. I went over to Portland, USA, to Cass's studio for the final stages.

Pretty cool.  Drums tone and mix are killer.   I love the vocal, great feel.  I kept waiting for the chick backup singers.  Great tune.

Sadowski bass?  Cool.  Works for Tal..
