(if all else fails, grab your junk?)  Or have someone else grab it? That works too!

(I'm sorry for that right there Lord...)

Robbie - thanks for the db's, that helps..  Definitely will think about the ending - good call.

Hi Phil, thank you much and so glad you enjoyed it.  I am hoping others will find it comforting and it certainly is not about me wanting a lot of recognition.  This whole song idea came out in one day.  I really didn't know what I was creating until I sat back after 8 hours and really listen to what I was doing.

It happens like that sometimes... I'm always glad when it does? When it happens like that, I tell people "I did not write the song? But rather, "it was channeled through me?" You are there? "Technically you wrote the song?" However, it really "just happened?" And you were part of it? I've written several like that, and it is a magical thing when it happens... I understand completely.

What a beautiful song... I love the intro and the tasteful orchestration... The vocal performance is very nice, but does need some work... I would start with some volume automation,  to even out the track dynamically... hi-pass filter, and a slight bit of subtle over-easy compression...
Did you write this..? very impressive...

"high pass filter?" Frank, who is someone I look up to? Is hearing the same thing, but saying it more tactfully... Frank is not about the drama? And is very subtle... He is saying the same things I said? And I hold Mr. Tanton "in high regard..." You would be well to do so also?

Hi Frank - I am touched by your words.  Thank you.  I had added hi-pass, compression, and manual volume but will go back and see what I can do to even it out more.  I was looking for lots of dynamic range for the whole production so the peaks and valleys did not bother me at the time.

I did write this song and there are many personal reasons why I want to share it.  I know it was a big departure from my blues, rock, and country songs.  The helpful feedback I get from this forum is much appreciated and never taken for granted - just as I am learning not to take anything in life for granted.  It is good to be alive and creating art - in whatever form we choose.

All the best.

Jim

Hi Chuck, thank you for the listen and kind words.  BTW, I like your footer.  I seem to have sampled a number of those alien-like ones in my life.

Hey James
What a wonderful piece of music.  Your choice of orchestration was and sounded awesome.  I take it you wrote this piece. Big KUDOS very well done . . . kind of has a Jackson Brown vibe.  The mix sound great on my end.  I'm guessing you have worked your magic with the high pass cause I'm not getting much muddiness at all on the vocals.  Your delivery was strong/clear and to the point on your leads and harmonies.  If I had to nit I do hear some small/very small pitch problems.  I also agree with Frank on the vocal volume automation especially during the vox/piano parts.  Sounds a bit loud and sitting in front of the mix a smidge. All in all a fantastic tune/performance . . . KUDOS!
