Hello Friends,

"Hopfeful Transitions" is a piece I wrote back in 2006.   I think I may have even posted it on this board back then.   In retrospect, the original version sounded pretty awful.   I've completely reworked the composition and reorchestrated it in Sonar using LASS Strings, and Kontakt samples for the winds and brass.   It was a pretty major effort, but I'm happy with it now.

I'd love to know your feedback on the new version:  https://soundcloud.com/ascent-music/hopefultransitions

Thanks!

Very nice piece Bruce.  I've tried orchestrations myself and always give up after the first 10-20 bars losing sight of where to go next.

Bruce, it takes more than just good samples to sound this good.  It requires a deep knowledge of orchestration, and you obviously have that.  Congratulations on a super job.

Amazing work Bruce, very well done. You can tell and hear that a lot of work has gone in to this.

Would love to hear the original piece for comparison.

Mark.

Sounds really good on my system.  I especially enjoyed the softer passages and dynamics.  Well done.

This is nice. The only thing that would make it better would be more modulation here and there. It does really nice but it seems to sound the same.

What I do love about it is that you know how to make music move. It's just not a melody over chords bangin away. Lots of nice motion all over the orchestra.

Very well done!

Very nice. It kept my attention all the way through .. a lot of times I'll listen to this kind of thing and stop a few seconds in but I really enjoyed this. Very realistic sounding, hard to do.
