Just got this from Jam Origin.......getting closer and closer towards the official release of MG2!!

MIDI Guitar 2 plugins released!During the last two weeks we've been releasing quite a few new BETA versions and fixed some issues. With todays BETA8 it is a good time to jump onto MIDI Guitar 2, if you haven't already.
Some highlights from recent releases
  • The VST and AudioUnit plugins are here! (32 & 64 bit, Mac & Windows)
  • Minor tracking improvements over the first MIDI Guitar 2 releases.
  • Added support for drop D tuning (more tunings to come)
  • MIDI AfterTouch support, following the energy envelope of the guitar string
  • Automatic notifications about new updates works.

Customer-exclusive releasesWe plan to release lots of updates during the coming weeks and months. Many customers have requested to get hands on new features as early as possible during development. As we depend on customers to support us during the entire development process that is a very reasonable request and also the most direct way we can build our products with those who care the most.
Thus, for some releases the automatic update checker in MIDI Guitar will ask you to authenticate as a customer (by typing in your email) and it will send you a link to the new version.
DownloadMIDI Guitar 2 is a free upgrade for all v1 license holders and free trial for everyone else.
Recent versions of MIDI Guitar 2 (BETA4 or above) will automatically notify you about the latest updates. If you use an older version, you need to download BETA4 first and it will notify you about BETA8
More info at the downloads page.

Thank you very much for your support!
Kind Regards Jam Origin

When opening up MG2, BRB actually means 2-8 hrs.

Somehow (since MG2 Beta 2), I only an email for Beta 8.......good thing people in here post regularly.

Sheesh! No pressure huh... LOL

I was thinking about that earlier... I need to have a serious think about it. I think my main problem would be inspiration. Every time I start of a "dark" toon, it ends up all light and happy... Every. Damn. Time. hahaha

I'm going to google "synth metal" and see what that brings up... Might get some ideas..........

Move out of the stereotypical "dark" 21st century metal, and invent a new 22nd Century light & happy metal.
Get a move on it man!!!

Rock and Roll big time.

Response is about as good as it can get tracking notes and chords without resorting to megabux Roland hardware.

Dev said that they will encorporate pitch bend and vibrato tracking in the final release.

Got to be a challenge. Track the fundamental accurately and still allow for bend and subtle vibrato inferences.

They say they can pull it off.  If so, critical devlopment on the cutting edge. Company to keep and ear and eye upon.

Yes this is only getting better, I thought it rocked pretty hard at version 1, so glad I came across this product and jumped on board back then.

Thanks Mesh, haven't tried MG since version one. They sure have come a long way. I picked up a license yesterday when I seen this :)

You're most welcome Grant.....it truly has come a long way (IIRC when I first found MG somewhere online a few years back and posted it here), you & and I were the first ones to really get excited about polyphonic midi guitar and be able to play chords....remember that?

It certainly has evolved into a really good product (especially for us clumsy keyboardists). Like John Kenn and others here, I'm also waiting for the bend/vibrato development. I'm really glad to support Jam Origin in this as it's a joy to play my softsynths on the guitar.

I just purchased this and am having a few problems. The beta 4 release would not recognize my Focusrite interface. I
thought this was because I did not own the product and would be fixed with purchase. this is not the case as version 1 when registered does not find the Focusrite either. The 32 bit version is OK.
I guess my e-mail address is not yet in the system to get the latest beta to try that as it is not found when I enter it.

Any ideas as to why I cannot use 64 Bit, all other programs that use 64 bit audio work well    Thanks   Dan
