As I understand it, MDrummer's real features are in the composing, arranging, generating beats.

Now, I'm someone who actually likes working with Jamstix (a program which scares many with it's complexity) and even so, the complexity of MDrummer intimidates me.

can anyone plz let me know if ya see my profile pic ? ....it never shows on my posts on my phone or laptop....even though it's uploaded and displays on my profile acct page....? sorry off topic.
Thanks Smokey....I will check out jamstix...I don't mind fiddling with the complex and learning curve setting up drums tracks.....actually just started setting some tracks with the piano/midi/drumsynth editor built in LE5 ....which is not as bad as I thought before ....just need to commit lil more time.....I prev debated how it compared to my ol Tr707 machine time wise....sure beats it in sound quality lol.

I got in to a "heated" debate (?) with someone on here who claimed that Mdrummer was a 100 times better than any of the other drum vsti's (including BFD3) so obviously I had to download the demo and see what gave him the right to make such bold claims. Well call me a BFD3 snob but mdrummer was just plain awful in every aspect, and I did try to like it. The sounds were cheap and the interface clunky, I would take EZdrummer and ever session drummer 2 over Mdrummer a 100 times.

If you go to the fxpansion site, go to the BFD3 overview page, then go to the FAQ tab and under, "is there a demo" you'll see two links (for mac and windows) where you can download a demo version of BFD3.

I did post a link but the idiot filter keeps blocking them and I really can't be arsed to have to ask the mods every time I want to post a link.

Naturally the demo is limited with less velocity layers and articulations but it still should give you a good idea of what it can do and what you can do with it. There are also lots of user videos and tutorials on youtube which are mostly very useful.

Cheers

Oh, I think you'll need to register an account (not bank details) before you can download and install it.
Let us know if you need any help setting it up and stuff.

wow....didn't have to register to d/l but it had corrupted data first time...so d/l second time and got it cranked up. they only give 30mins time to test drive it in a limited capacity....I like what it's got a whole lot more compared to MDrummer. I didn't play out all my demo time yet as I was dead tired last night when I finally got it going. hope to get more time testing tomorrow(late n tired again as I write this @ 1223am). I will check out the youtube demos also....but I'm getting the vibe this is a keeper...thanks ;-)
