CLEAN
Lynn - what a great tune - the mix really since crystal clear to me - vocals are great - all the instruments are played so well. Excellent.

Lynn, Sounds pretty good to me, Vocals overpower once in a while to me and I did find the hard panned hi-hats a little distracting.  But that is all subjective stuff.  Nice performances across the board.

Mark, I appreciate your comments, especially because I think you make some of the best mixes around.

Chuck, it's good to hear from you.  I'm still impressed by the video you made in honor of your brother.  I wanted the vox to be upfront in this, as I created about 9 parts for the chorus.  As for the hi hat, I put it about 30% in the right channel to be outside the snare, which is more centered.  I just felt I need a little more in the right channel for balance.  Thanks for your comments.

Frank, thank you for taking another listen, and for your most helpful comments.  I did pull the guitar down where you suggested and pulled the frequencies at 4.5k down a notch to make it less bright.  You have golden ears.

digging the guitar on this one lynn, this was an interesting choice to mix the lead guitar parts to one side.it does in deed  distinguash those parts very nicely though.and ive been a big fan of that mixing style since ted templeton did it with van halen.i know it was used earlier than that(hendrix)but it was ted that reall opened it up IMO.

ive followed your stuff for a while now.you have some great roots in music.
there was a song you did a couple years ago or maybe less about a soilder going off to war i think it was.
(forgive me if i have the details mixed up a bit).i just really took a lot from that song,i really liked it.
and realized your were not only a good musician but a good writer as well.

like i said, the guitar parts in this song are really good, sounds like a wha effect in there as well.
and a lot can be said about a songs end.
this one was really nice.it was spontanous,i like that.and when it did end.it was cut so clean the air seemed to drop.
which sometimes effect tails can linger.
this was cut nice.a dead stop.clean

please forgive the spell check as well, everytime i go to open it up using ie 9 it shows it for a half second, then that whole bar(the one with photo, link, spell check, exc)just disapears.
i need to get a new browser or just hope cake updates this forum software soon.

How in the world did I almost miss this one?  I had to check twice to see that I hadn't already responded.  Terrific sound.  What I am listening to sounds clear, crisp, and very well done.  This number does have a bit of a Steve Miller feel to it --- and that's definitely a compliment.
Really nice stuff Lynn!!

Lynn, sounds great. The harmony reminded me of CSN&Y (We are stardust, we are.....).

Chucke, I'm very pleased to hear your comments.  Thank you for mentioning my song RIVERS OF THE SKY, many people will appreciate that.  As for the ending, it was either an abrupt end or a fade out.  I'm trying to balance this collection of songs between the two.

Freddy, what can I say?  Thank you for your time and compliment.

Chas, I sure listened to a lot of C,S,N and Y in the day.  That's quite a huge compliment, as I had to take a lot of nitrous oxide to get that effect.

"I'm flattered by the Steve Miller comparison."

How about the fact that we both "do things in the basement?"  (I'm sorry for that right there Lord.)

You have a good sound on this one. Except that snare is too roomy. I think this might sound better with almost a completely dry drum sound.

The bass seems sluggish at times in the verses, so you might want to tighten that up.

Great tune.
