Plans to build a super highway from the UK, across Europe, Russia to the US, Alaska and finally to New York. Will be the longest highway in the world and include a railway, gas and oil pipelines. This would cost trillions and take about 10 years to finish.
For starters - at 1/4/ of the costs: A
Hyperloop can easily travel at 750 mph (much faster than commercial airliners), and would take less time to construct. Hyperloop will be the cheapest option for overseas travel and can also deliver freight for much less than it would cost by shipping or air-freight.
California also has plans for a Hyperloop, although IMHO this technology would still require a test track (which I 'think' is being constructed in Texas)! However, the technology looks very promising, tubes can travel above or well below ground and across the ocean. Hyperloop would cut overseas travel and freight times enormously - Example: San Francisco to LA in 30 minutes for about $30 traveling at less than top speed (average speed). Overseas travel at top speed (750 mph) from LA to the UK would take a few hours. The Hyperloop has the potential to go much faster than 750 mph, Gforces will not be an issue due to clever implementation of 'Air-Evacuated' tube system.
