Very nice.  What lens did you use (you seem to be fairly well zoomed in)?

I saw a zoom-related .gif thing the other day that impressed me:

Done on a £200 Lumix apparently!

Something about that reminds me of a girl I used to date - walking past the TV set.  Can't quite put a finger on why that is.  :)

Those are incredible pictures.  Whereabouts were you when you took these?

Thanks! I used my 'cheapo' Canon 75-300mm Ultrasonic, which is equivalent to 120-480mm on a full frame/35mm camera. I used a 2x extender on most of them, giving me nearly 1000mm focal length full frame equivalent.

I shot at ISO 100 and in RAW to maximise the quality, and then processed/sharpened and cropped the images in Photoshop.

That's incredible. Mind you, if I remember correctly, Lumix cameras have lenses made by Zeiss, so they are going to be decent quality.

Cheers Bob. All taken from my back garden here in Worcester UK.

Did anyone take pictures of the rest of the eclipse?  Then all of their pictures could be combined with your partials and you'd have the whole sun back.  We all know you could use a bit more sun out there!

Way cool, Steve.
I like the way the clouds play into it. They lend an ancient, mystical quality.
I'm glad you got the chance to shoot these pictures.
This rash of eclipses has been a lot of fun for those of us who are into such things.
