Just seeing the word Pop in a drum pack makes me want to pass on by.
United
Pop is just the (current) name of the studio (like the Fairfax Paks), it shouldn't be taken as a genre suggestion!
I bought this two days ago when it came out (liked the demos), and I wouldn't say it's any more "poppy" than the Fairfax paks. Love the nameless giant 26" ride and the very trashy vintage K hihat! Crashes are very good as well, except for for one of the four which decays weirdly (they must've modified it in some way).
The Ludwig snare is a lot crisper than than the one in the Fairfax vol. 2, like the resonant head is tuned much higher. I like it a lot! The "Trump" snare is not my cup of tea... Toms are wetter (more room in the close mics) than FFv2 but drier than the Indie pak. The kick is less scooped than the Fairfaxes as well, I like it!
Overall I'd say this Pak is sort of in between Fairfax vol. 2 and Indie in terms of tone and purpose! I really like this Pak and will certainly be using it (which is more than I can say of BFD3, which I bought full price this winter and haven't used for a single real project yet).
