Hey, Peter,

This is an excellent rock instrumental with great playing and monster guitar tone in a clean, fresh, modern sounding mix!  Pro sounding production all the way.

Pure dynamite, my friend!
Bob

Thanks so much for listening and for your kind comments, Bob. I really appreciate them.

Cheers,

Peter.

Really enjoyed this Peter - great sound but slightly lacking in bass to my ears. I liked the interplay of the guitars and the fact that the track as a whole isn't just a wall of guitar sound from 3:30 ish, it gave the track a nice bit of variety.

Cheers,
Terry.

I finally got around to playing it at higher volume, and well, as I suspected, with this MP3 at least, things get a bit ugly as the volume goes up. I lack the words to describe what I am hearing here - its not muddy, it is.. I don't know... saturated. Undefined. I find most of the mids to be stepping over each other - the guitars begin to clash. The bass is just a tone, not an "instrument" (a tone that might melt a voice coil if not careful). From an audiophile perspective, I do not like the sound of this. It is just... too much. I know that seems harsh. I wish it weren't so. The upside is, I suspect non-audiophiles would not rightly care. I do. But I am weird that way.

very nice guitar work there buddy.
id like to hear the bass alittle more prominent in the mix.its easy to lose the bass sometimes in guitar instrumentals.
the interlude in the middle of the song(well around 2:55)is off the hook man....i made a comment on your soundcloud page right at the part im talking about.
what a strong presence in that part.man thats tight.
love to hear some of your work with a songer as well.
those were some very melodic hooks,im in love love with guitar bends, melodic bends mixed in at the end of harmonic minor runs.

im a fan now.

@Charlie thanks for your comments and yes, I have since upped the bass in the mix for replication.

@sixfinger Thanks, glad you like it.

I like it. I'm normally bored with things like this but yours had plenty of changes, which kept me hanging on until the end. Some slight mix issues such as levels and panning tweaks but otherwise a solid track.

Hi Peter,

As a newbie to recording/mixing I don't feel qualified to comment on the mix, but, as a lifelong Heavy Metal fan (it was called 'underground' in my youth), this is up there with the best of them.
I really enjoyed the 'relaxed'? smooth style of playing and the harmonics of that guitar are beautiful. The interplay of the guitars in the last 1/4 was particularly enjoyable.
The beginning made me think that Black Sabbath was about to play and just over halfway through I thought Uriah Heep had just walked in!  :-)
I really enjoyed it and after listening to it 4 times now I picked up something each time that I hadn't 'heard' before.
Great stuff.  More please.
