Nice country ballad, I would like to see the words in print as it's just easier to follow the first time through.  I liked this, but upon listening to the instrumental version I liked that too.

I look forward to hearing Robbies version as well.   I thought it could be just a touch faster, although the instrumental felt a little more right, at least the groove did.

Nice lyrics - Great song title for the genre for sure.  It just sounds like a hit.  Good song Gary.

I think I favor the instrumental backing for some reason...

@Wookie - you're very welcome. Can I keep limbs (for now)?

Ed did a good job editing my performance to the way he wanted it. But I'm going to re-record the vox the way he wanted them over the next few days (Hopefully, if I'm not coming down with the boy's cold). He'll repost the re-recorded version.

Then in a few weeks, a re-re-release with the version I heard when I did it.  You people may want to be drifting apart from this song by the time we're done! LOL!

When you deal with artists and producers, people have strong opinions. (And by people, I mean people like Ed? HE'S DEMANDING!! And also, he has a ways to go to catch up to Mr. Markno999, HE'S A TASKMASTER!!! He's like a corrupt guard in a Turkish prison... I feel like I'm reliving Midnight Express when I work with that guy...)

I try to understand that everyone does not see the world as do I :-) Which is probably a pretty damn good thing! hahahahah :-) Again, as Ed said, "It is NOT a competition!" It's just two different views from two different points of view. But I'm going to first try to make his version better by re-recording it (5 tracks!)

I will think about it!

Sorry, but this production really ruins a great tune and performance.

I would think it might be a good idea, but trying to work a vocal into an existing instrumental track like this is just not working for me.

Robby, if you are going to re-record the vocals, might I suggest a shift in style? I do not know what Ed wants, but I can tell you what I heard for a few fleeting moments here and there, and that was a very rich Danny Elfman style (think Nightmare before Christmas - forget the content and listen to the tone (he sings the lead characters parts)). Lose the false vibrato. You know better. Your natural vibrato will express itself when appropriate.

Yeah, there are some competing styles for this piece? And competing ideas on if there should be vocals.

I'm re-singing this for Ed? I would have tonight? But after tonight's "State of the Union?" I spent most of the evening cleaning my collection... (of 45s (records)) And other speeds as well?

It really wasn't a false vibrato? But it seems to have bothered a few people, so I may try to control it better on the re-recorded versions.

I'm a little shaky on vibrato personally? I keep going back and fourth on the issue.

Production is very good. Vocal is too loud IMO. Overall, very good.

"State of the Union?"

well, that can't be good...

I'm not sure how to respond to this, since I'm not sure who I'm responding to...

Who is "Coffee House Collaborators"..?

Yes, That's it.

Re-sing the State of the Union. I mean it is "We Drift Apart". No?
