NI tend to claim that discontinued stuff has been included under a different name in a slightly different way.

You don't want to buy GuitarRig 4 Pro do you?

The deal is all done.  All I have to do now is wait by the mail box for fedex.  Let's hope Tom Hanks isn't bringing it or I could be in for a long wait...

K9 will keep you going for a long time, I don't think you'll miss anything that doesn't come in that package. Prepare for a long session of disk swapping. Really, get a bottle of wine and order take away, you'll be there for a while. And most of the instruments can be programmed and explored for months.

It's worth noting that NI offers the same upgrade price for two versions back, but not three. So an upgrade to 10 costs the same from 8 and 9, while 7 is more expensive.

Or in the case of Reaktor, a lifetime

Ultimate comes on a HDD, so no disk swapping.   But I'll get a bottle of wine anyway

I am still on the fence....I have K 9 and do not see a lot for 199.  More synths...not that interested.

I probably will wait and see if it goes on sale myself.

enclosed 2.5" usb3 hdd in a nice brown Native Instruments marked case, with a unique connector and matching usb cable- should not cause any issues unless your usb power supply is insufficient to power the enclosure, then I gather you have to mess about a bit. It took about 3 or 4 hours to install everything with my usb2 interface. Ive read some posts elsewhere with corrupt files that where rectified with files downloaded from NI- unfortunately there are a number of posts concerning unnecessary delays with customer service- so that is one thing you might want to be aware of.

Having the hard drive still takes 3-4 hours? Is this because it's usb 2.0 ? It sounds as if you imported from the outboard hdd to an internal one. I was under the impression you could stream from it. I would probably do the same thing unless that included hdd can stream a lot of tracks at once.

I would not mind getting my hands on the new pianos but I can wait, either for a decent discount or Komplete 11.

yup 3 to 4 hours,  not exactly certain- I expected it wouldve been much quicker going from k9U so I didnt check the time, but I surfed a bit on my other pc and then watched a full movie and still had a while to go before the install was ...errr, complete, you might say. we are looking at a pretty large data transfer- I dont think there is an option to run the software off the supplied hdd enclosure-  just pick your install path and go. I really dont see why the install time would be an issue unless one has only days left to live I suppose (a way to pass the time ? something to look forward to ?). Not to mention, why does no one seem to remember the prolonged install times in the good old floppy days ?

Yes no streaming from the harddrive. Only installers on there. If they make a K11U on an SSD with all samples ready to stream I'd jump on it in a heartbeat.
