Would anyone dare to suggest that Black Friday brings K10 to K10U upgrades at half price?
Oops.

highly doubt it.  for the past 2 years black Friday and cyber Monday NI did not have Komplete on sale.

in the past Black Friday was a bunch of the individual apps (guitar rig, kontakt, reactor, massive etc) all on sale for 50% off.

I got Komplete 9 upgrade from 7 last year on Black Friday for $74.50.

So the sale is on. If you go to the facebook post advertising their 'very special price' on K10U the comments are priceless. 99% are basically giving the bird (for K9U users way too expensive for way too little). Ah well next year maybe.

Mine came the other day but I haven't opened it yet...this wasn't a sale, just GAS. I'm still trying out all the stuff included in the basic K10 package :) and I was going to upgrade a computer before I went too wild with new software but I felt bloated and well...GAS just happens.
Sharke, Reactor is probably the most challenging synth for me so far. I want to dig into it and start building some cool stuff. It doesn't help that there are some presets because when I play with the presets I'm not motivated to program my own. Ive spent hours just goofing with what's already in the box.

Ain't that the truth...

Reaktor seems almost endless at times.   OK, most of the time.

I gave up on the Reaktor manual. Just couldn't wrap my head around anything but the very basics of building synths. ADSR sells a Reaktor synth building video course which is reportedly very good so I might try that.

Reaktor does have a steep learning curve - and the ADSR Master courses (two of them) are very good.

If you intend to learn it well, it will require a commitment of time and some frustration.

But, on the other hand, if all you want to do is put together pieces of other works and tweak a few things, it should not be too bad.

When you get in trouble, the Reaktor forums are great for that.

Or you can just use the thousands of free stuff without knowing anything at all.

There are two styles of building blocks in Reaktor - Primary and Core. Some people like Core, I prefer Primary. They are a bit different.

Primary is more like black box connections, Core is more low level.

I liked this one... Might not be deep enough for some though..
