Mainly for Syncrotron, and please forgive if advising the obvious.

MG2 relies on precision tuning of the axe to 440 standard.

Guitar can be perfect in tune with itself, but if outside the 440 reference even slightly, will track (more) erratic and higher probability of false notes.

Bit of a limitation on how things work, but if you use a tuner and get the axe to standard pitch, false notes will almost be absent (or at least minimized).

Tracking in ver 2 is way superior to what ver 1 did. Still waiting to see what they can deliver with bend and vibrato.

Hi John,

Before getting MIDI Guitar I always tuned my guitars with a Fender FCT-12 clip-on tuner and that is set to 440.

But now that I have MIDI Guitar I have been using that to tune my guitars. I find their "on-board" tuner much easier to use

So I'm pretty sure it's probably something to do with my playing...

cheers

Absolutely right Andy......of course the guitar always needs to be in tune, but our playing technique needs to be slightly "adjusted" so that the correct notes gets cleanly picked up. Overall, MG2 is doing a fantastic job at it and I'm also waiting for the bend and/or vibrato functions.

I got Beta 6 to work in standalone mode and got so carried away with playing various soft-synths, that after and hour or more, I completely forgot about using it in Sonar.

Yeah... It's so easy to get lost in this thing LOL... I get lost for ages trying out all the patches of my favoutite soft synths. And it brings a whole new dimension to my MIDI playing/recording techniques. I need to put a little composition together, once I've finished with my current EQ "distraction." Been using Beta 6; like it a lot.  Nice tracking, but I don't shredd, just play melodic lines and chords.  Really like the new 2.0.  Also like the drop D tuning for when I do that; and it works fine.
