Clean.... wow, I don't know what to say, other than I am humbled. I am just an ordinary guy trying to get his songs heard. I am always just happy to hear that some one likes what I am doing.
Mosvalve I need to listen to your song yet, I have read some really good reviews. I have been trying to find time to get on my good cans or the monitors in my studio. I wanted to hear your song the first time on some good equipment. If I get time tonight at home, I will check it out. I am happy to hear that the guitars and drums kept you involved though out the song. That means that I am getting a little better at both.
Compression? Could be too much, I don't know. I layered my compression in with small amounts. I use the PCLA2 on a lot of my tracks, I like the warmth and feel of that plug. I am assuming you are talking about compression on the vocals? I layered the compression on vocals. Hit it first with a very small amount of VC64, trying to just knock off the peaks. Then hit it with the PCLa2, probably around 50% reduction and 45% gain. Mymic pre is a tube pre...that probably colors a little as well.
