Hi-

I'm going a little crazy here because someone I've been e-mailing back and forth with for, oh, 20 years or so suddenly isn't getting my emails (for the last few days, so I don't know if others aren't receiving them.) I'm able to e-mail from my own gmail account to my own comcast account and vice versa. I just want to send a test e-mail. There aren't that many people I e-mail on a regular basis except for business and I'm not inclined to send them a "Can you read this?" message.

Thanks-

No problem Susan, I'll send you a PM.

Bear in mind it's bedtime for me here in the UK so I won't check my emails until the morning.

I also sent you an email, and I don't go to bed at sundown, like our across the big pond brethren.  :)

I am in Maryland, so it's 9:30 here and I will be up for 2-3 more hours.

Gmail definitely isn't 100% solid, I've had some weirdness with it in the past. At one point it was sending my dad emails that I'd already sent him days earlier. He thought I was losing the plot

Thanks, all.  It seems to be just the one recipient not getting my emails, so I guess it's something on her end. I've tried from both my gmail and comcast accounts, and you helpful guys have gotten yours.

Thanks very much again!

Susan, have you checked if maybe she's accidentally marked one of your messages as spam?

I assume that once that's been done accidentally, every message you've sent her since would get sent to her spam folder. Or if she's got her account set to immediately delete any incoming spam, that might explain where all the correspondence you've sent her has disappeared to.

Hi Steve-

Yeah, I just don't know. I'll log into her computer next chance and see if I can figure out what's going on. It's very strange, since I've sent her mail using both my comcast and gmail accounts with several different "personas" and nothing from me gets through. She's getting other email regularly; I can receive anything she sends me and I've had confirmations from several people that they're getting my messages. As I said, we've emailed regularly for decades, so clearly something's new and different. She got an iPhone recently and I asked if she might have inadvertently "trashed" me forever using that ;), but she said she doesn't use it much for email and wouldn't know how to delete me if she wanted to! Unless her spam filter is set to delete tiny urls of cat videos and ban the sender for life or something, I dunno...

Thanks-

Actually, that's Steve's filter!  LOL.

One possibility I ran into is where someone's hosting company gets a bit too aggressive and bans a range of IP's while trying to stop a spammer.
