Of course, if he plays any farther down on the strings, he'll be playing on the bridge itself!  LOL.

To be perfectly honest, I usually try not to listen to anything that would ressemble what I am working on for fear of contamination, and because eventually, it leads me to be overly self-conscious and to lose the naivety I need to write.

So I had a vague and totally generic frame of reference - classic 50's surf music, rockabilly (mostly through Brian Setzer) and Link Wray.

I think the inspiration may have come from this song which I listened to last week...

Some friends mentioned Tarantino movies, but considering that I don't like him, I couldn't say he inspired me.

Thanks guys!
Spending so much time working in the studio and rarely getting to share any of it with anyone, a good word from one of you goes a long way. :)

I like that Juno Reactor song. Yours reminded me of the Pixies too.

Rain: Spending a Friday evening alone in the studio with an adequate supply of Mexican beer leads to all kind of funny things!

Awesome!

Yeah, I can definitely hear the Mexican beer influence {burp} very much so {burrrrp} omg, sounds like you had lots of fun.

Love the Pixies - they were a staple of my DJ years, but I think I havent heard them since the late 90s. A shame...

Thanks Greg. It was lots of fun indeed. It's great to be able to draw the line at least on one project every now and then, to just pull the plug on a song and call it a day, no matter how sloppy the playing, and with no hope of fixing everything or properly mixing it. Just letting go.

I like it. Good 'ol guitar twang. Something you might hear in a Quentin Tarantino movie. I wouldn't discard it too soon.

Massively cool guitar number. Great riffs. Great sound. The rhythm section and the organ are really pushing.

Cheers,
