Yeah I came to the forum and fell into the BS with the new membership deal but I came around and apologized for my behavior!
and I still watched all the evil hatred towards me in at least two threads mainly started by Craig Anderton! and do to the BS with the user name account merge deal I was stuck with a lame user name! so I changed it to "foggymind" and I can't even add a avatar that will show up, I guess because it's being blocked!
ALSO Ryan Munnis has no clue how to treat customers!
But in the end I did upgrade to platinum and took a chance on this new membership concept... I set up a new account and tried to become part of the cakewalk community but after the last two month of being blatantly ignored by the community as a whole, IM DONE with The Cakewalk forum and software!
I will take the free crap and "lame presets" for the rest of the year but I will never admit to anyone ever that I used any cakewalk software to record my music!
BYE!
Hi, Dave. I just wanted to touch base with you - and please note I am not a representative of Cakewalk, meaning I do not work for them, and I cannot speak for them either. I do happen to have taken on some minor 'helper' admin tasks as a forum host, but really I am just another member. (to anyone with any forum host issues, please defer commenting in this thread on those - I would like to try to address Dave's situation here - thanks).
I don't know the details of anything that had gone on before, and I am certainly not defending anything anyone wrote to you or about you in a negative fashion.
From time to time, some people really do create forum member accounts for purposes of literally coming in with guns blazing, with some really really nasty comments about Sonar or some other aspect of Cakewalk or its staff, or whatever, and sometimes some of the forum members really respond in pretty nasty comments too - labeling the original posters as Trolls and all manner of pretty nasty other terms.
So, when someone who is a new user comes into one of the forums with a bunch of complaints - ranting about some problem or experience, a lot of times they will be seen as one of those Trolls, and will get blasted.
I DO recall fairly recently, where the above seems to have happened - do not know if that was you or not, but I certainly saw an initial post by a new user with a bunch of negativity, where several forum folks just blasted at that new user, because they happened to have fit the behavior profile of what many of the Trolls do.
If I recall correctly, even as some of that blasting was going on, some forum members - I think I was one as well, kept suggesting that we could NOT know from that single initial post that the new forum member was actually a Troll, or just someone who was REALLY frustrated and venting in their initial post.
Unfortunately, by the time enough folks had tried to put the brakes on the bashing, the damage had been done - indeed, in that instance, the new user was simply a new user who was really really frustrated, and happened to have vented in their first real post to the forums.
I just wanted to apologize to you for any of that sort of thing happening to you, if that was you, or for whatever negative situation you ended up in - folks in a forum can frequently really gang up on someone, instead of trying to really get to the bottom of what might be actually going on that would cause someone to want to post a 'venting' sort of thread.
I can tell you that there really are a bunch of folks that would and do work really hard to help people work through Sonar issues, and that if you ARE having issues and are willing to post them into separate threads (one issue per thread), with as much detail as you can about each particular issue, that people WILL try to help you work through whatever can be resolved, and will help you get anything that cannot properly sent through the support ticket system, etc...
At any rate, I wish you the best of whatever helps you to accomplish your musical goals, and that you don't end up with too many gray hairs along the way.
It sounds like you did end up with the new release of Sonar, and for most folks it seems to work well - though there do seem to be some things they are working on correcting (I don't think there are many things causing crashes, to the best of my current awareness). What I mean is that for any issues you may be having, I think if we were to engage in a cooperative analysis of those, that we should be able to get many/most of them resolved, and you to a point to where you are able to be productive with the product.
I am hoping you will take another stab at engaging in the forums, likely the Sonar forum, with your issues, so that we can get things sorted out for you. :)
