My good nature is actually a product of my inner rage. My belief is the most effective and enduring defense and offense to a hateful, uncaring and cynical society is to nuke it with thoughtful positivity, good will and kindness on all fronts. These dastardly weapons are infectious and spread in ways that cannot be stopped even by outright assassination. If anything that only makes matters worse for the "enemy"... who in the end is a friend who simply has not realized they are my friend.

;-)

And now we will take a short break for everyone's eyes to refocus after the aggressive eye rolling.

Don't worry too much about it Beeps. There are treatments(pills) that will take care of it with some dietary changes. Btw, going by my last Doc visit apparently I Am a 90 year old chupacabra

I'm sorting out the cost factor. If things go the way I would like this will be a complete non issue. It will just take time and effort. If they do not go as planned... well I'll be f*cked until I can come up with a better plan.

The good news is I'm not dying which was a concern. This is workable. BTW, if I had not already wished you good luck and health already I do. I have seen some of your woes of late and you have been in my thoughts. Best to ya.

Have they given you a mg amount of how much calcium you have to take per day? What about vitamin D, have they given you a dosage? Most calcium supplements come with vitamin D these days. I have heard of people getting osteoporosis relatively young. I believe that some form of low impact exercise (like walking) is good for it too. If you're going to get some supplements then look on Amazon because it's way cheaper!

The exact numbers are somewhat forthcoming aside from the vit D. That is 4000iu per day in liquid form diluted into the massive pile of milk I need to drink. I had been taking 1000iu of vit D per day in caplet form but I guess that ain't nearly enough.

I will look at online distros and thank you fro the idea. Amazon.ca REALLY sucks compared to the US version though so I'm probaly better of just talking to my regular pharmacist (and they deliver free which is great).

Sorry to hear that, pal!

Hopefully the treatment will start taking effect quick.

Thanks, Rain. I'll nail this. Just really took me off guard. I expected it wouldn't be great but damn... literally old lady levels. Fookin' pathetic.

Cheers.

I assume you have had evaluation for secondary causes of osteoporosis. It is not that common to have significantly decreased bone mineral density in young men as an isolated finding. A lack of calcium in the diet alone would be pretty low on the list of probable causes, and inactivity would have to be pretty extreme. Are you a bedridden astronaut?

Good news is... now you can try on that blue & white dress everyone's been talking about. Or was it black & gold?

There are indeed other factors. I supposedly have a semi-rare genetic abnormality which is what led to all this. It's a bit of a bugger.

Well the treatment is a massive influx of calcium, Vit D, magnesium, protein and I'm assuming medically supervised weight lifting.

Now that I know what the hell is going on you can be guaranteed I am going to go absolutely apef*ck on this in any way I can. Unfortunately there are those in society (yes... even Canadian society) who would rather people like me erode or outright kill myself before giving me a chance to become a tax paying citizen again... but screw those pricks.

This will be hard but now I know what the goal is. My anger will fuel me. Just hope I don't shatter into a pile of dust in the meantime.

Thank you all for the well wishes and sorry for the whinage. Just needed to vent a bit.

Cheers.

Good luck Beeps. Do whatever you can to hold it back. My mother (85) has osteoporosis despite a good diet and an active lifestyle.
