I have never received an update notice from NI, XLN, Toontrack or IK. I think I have had a few notices from Toontrack but never before I heard about it here and not at all consistent. Wouldn't it be great if,say, NI Service Center and the others had a "check for Updates" setting and how often and when to check (like 3 AM) and how often to check (Monday, Wed, Fri). How hard would that be to do?

You can put a NI Service Center event in Windows Task Scheduler to do exactly that.

What's happening to my posts? I wrote one very similar to your BobF, and now it's gone. I've already had one notice that a post has been retrieved from the recycle bin. Who knew there was one of those?
